Identifying Ranma Cels : Tips

• Use the 'by episode' listing to browse around in the database, and get an idea of the kinds of keywords that I use, and color words that I use. This will help you put together useful searches.

  ---

• Furinkan girls have three different school uniforms. I used a number after the word "uniform" to distinguish the different styles, so that can be used as a keyword to search for just one particular style. The three styles are:
  • Short-sleeved white blouse under teal dress ("uniform1"),
  • Long-sleeved teal jacket over white blouse and teal dress ("uniform2"), and
  • Long-sleeved white blouse under teal dress ("uniform3").

  Akane and Nabiki often wear these uniforms. Occasionally, Ukyo wears one. A few times, someone dressing up as a girl (Sasuke or Gosunkugi) will be seen wearing one. Even Ranma (girl-type) has been seen in it.

• Ranma's red shirt has two lines either side of the center, at the edges of the yellow ties, in Season 1.

• The width of the yellow ties on Ranma's red shirt varies quite a lot. Unfortunately it often varies greatly even within a single episode. For that reason, you can't use the tie length to identify episode of origin:

• The sleeve length of Ranma's shirt will help narrow down the season to some extent. In some episodes it is sleeveless, and in others the sleeves run about halfway between his elbows and wrists:

  sleeveless	long sleeves

  Ranma has the sleeveless sort a few times in Seasons 2 and 3, and a lot of the time in Season 5. He has the longer-sleeved version often in Seasons 4 and 6.
